Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho is pleased to announce it has received a $2,500 grant from the Kissler Family Foundation Philanthropic Gift Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation.
These funds will support Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho’s affordable housing and home repair programs in Kootenai County. The nonprofit is in the process of building energy-efficient condominium style homes for 21 families in Coeur d’Alene.
“At least one in 10 Idaho households spend over half of their income on housing and the number of Kootenai County families who are struggling to afford rent is on the rise,” said James Casper, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho. “This grant will help us provide safe, stable and affordable housing in Kootenai County.”
The grant will also support A Brush With Kindness, Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho’s home repair program. The program provides simple home repairs for low-income homeowners in Kootenai County including house painting, yard cleanup, accessibility, critical repairs and weatherization.
