Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer labor is the primary factor in creating affordable housing at Habitat for Humanity. Your time is the most valuable thing that you might be able to donate.

Volunteer for new construction or repair projects

Community involvement is at the core of what we do, and we know how to make your time meaningful and impactful regardless of your skill level. If you have any interest in construction or home maintenance you can work on-site with our other volunteers and our construction staff. If you have previous experience in the trades then you might consider helping other volunteers in learning while building.

Volunteer at The ReStore

The Habitat ReStore sells donated materials to raise money in support of North Idaho Habitat Home Ownership and Home Repair programs. Volunteers are an important part of this mission. Volunteers are needed to assist customers, stock shelves, organize product displays, unload donations from the vehicles of individual donors and ReStore Trucks. Volunteers also assist with the processing of donations and donation paperwork.

Who can volunteer?

Volunteers must be 14 years or older to volunteer in the ReStore. Youth under the age of 18 must have a parent- or guardian-signed waiver. Youth at the new construction and repair sites have additional safety requirements. Please contact our volunteer coordinator to discuss those opportunities further.
